Predictive Bidding

247ai logo

Redesigning the 247ai Predictive Bidding dashboard for ad agencies and brands—intuitive navigation, design system, and workflows for Google Ads, Bing, Facebook, and more.

I worked on redesigning the Predictive bidding dashboard to be more intuitive and user friendly, while collaborating with developers and product owners on business needs. It was done by restructuring the navigation and user work flow while also incorporating and working with 247ai's in creating a new design system

Overview

The 247ai Predictive bidding dashboard is an interface which clients in Ad agencies and brands view and interact with to improve their bidding performance on different metrics. This interface contains multiple controls and settings that work together with a backend and AI to bid on different auctions in Google Ads, Bing, Yahoo Japan, Facebook, and Youtube based on specific metrics such as impressions, CPM, ROI.

Process

From discovery and definition through ideation, design and prototyping, usability testing, development, and measuring success—with Double Diamond and close collaboration with account managers and stakeholders.

Discovery and Definition

Research & define

Double Diamond Methodology to define the problem statement. Identified two areas to improve on:

Navigation of dashboard.

Accessibility of data while away from a desktop

Navigation flow and site map

Broke down the current products structure and reviewed user journeys and workflows.

UX Audit

Heuristic evaluation

Users (Account managers) were used to the standards in Navigation from tools like Google Ads. Users preferred patterns that were familiar and showed real-time data.

Desirability Study

Visual patterns and Information architecture were more on the negative side according to users. Accessibility was poor and harder for users to differentiate key components in their workflows

Ideation

Wireframing

Design studios collaboratively with different stakeholders.

Wireframing and prototyping in Sketch

Design and Prototyping

Sketch prototype

Used sketch to create concepts and prototypes.

Presented workflows to stakeholders and developers

Branding and style guide

Designed components for the company design system that were needed for the dashboard.

Updated wireframes to match the overall brand

Usability Testing

A/B Testing

Created Prototypes that could be tested internally with account managers.

Updated designs based on feedback and critique

Development

Project development

Used a War room to track progress across different domains.

Broke down user facing tasks with development teams.

Updating components and styling on the Frontend

Measuring Success

Measure

Heap analytics and Fullstory to see users workflows in the dashboard

Client feedback channels KPIs based on user uptake

Insights & Results

Key learnings

Working on the Predictive Bidding dashboard helped me gain a lot of insights into the industry as well as understand the needs of our clients. Problem solving was a fun challenge as I had to focus on the customers current usage and try to define a better way of working. Having stakeholders from Agency, Brands, and Insights gave me a lot of use cases to work, and coming up with a solution that works for all was a fun and fulfilling task
